Podcast Guest Information

So you’ve decided to be on the Sex Ed With Tim Podcast! I’m so thankful for you! You’re going to help a lot of people with the knowledge you provide. I would like to go over just a few things before we record our episode. Please read through all of it as it may answer some of the questions you have. Feel free to email me if you need any further clarification.

The Format of the Show

If you haven’t listened to my show yet, it’s very laid back and I try my best to make it sound like a casual conversation. I do have some notes on my end to help direct the conversation so we’re not totally lost. I also try to make this equally entertaining as it is informative because sex is funny! I want you to bring your smarts and have a good time :)

Before the Show

  • I use a web-based recording site called Riverside. You will receive a session invite in the Calendly booking platform once you select a date and time. It’s not like Zoom where it requires you to install a program on your desktop. Simply open the link on a browser like Chrome, and you’re in. IMPORTANT NOTE: To use Riverside on iPhone or Android you need to use the Riverside.fm iPhone or Android app. Browsers like Safari and Chrome on mobile phones and tablets are not (yet) supported. On the plus side, you don’t need to make an account.

  • If you can please find a quiet space to record for at least an hour. This will help with sound editing as audiences might not appreciate hearing the air conditioning or the noise of traffic.

  • Headphones are highly recommended as it improves the quality of the recording as well as how we will be conversing throughout the show. This also prevents feedback. An external mic will also help with sound quality, but it’s not a problem if you don’t have one.

During the Show

  • Feel free to turn the camera on or off; whatever makes you feel comfortable. I will have my camera on to help give it a personal feel so you can see how much I love having you on :)

  • If you lose your train of thought, you can sit in silence to collect your thoughts and restart. This will not only help you answer the questions, but it will also help me with sound editing.

  • Technology is a double-edged sword as it is both great for connecting us yet unreliable at times. If anything happens during the session like poor internet connection, the recording will pause. Simply click the session link again to go back in, and we can pick up where we left off.

After the Show

  • If possible, please send me a picture/headshot you would like me to use for the episode. Please also send me a short biography to use for the show notes so audiences can have a better understanding of who you are. I will email you a reminder a week before the release of your episode, but please do not feel pressured to do so.

  • Once I have all the social media marketing materials ready, I will send them to you via email (or any other social media of your choosing) so you can take a look at what we will give to the world.
